Zveme Vás na první komentovanou prohlídku výstavy Kurta Gebauera s názvem „kurtfotomat“, která se uskuteční ve čtvrtek 23. 7. 2026 od 18:00 v J.A. Galerii MAT. Po skončení komentované prohlídky bude od 20:00 v kině MAT následovat projekce filmů o Kurtovi, které přiblíží jeho tvorbu, osobnost i dlouhodobý vztah k veřejnému prostoru.

In the heart of Prague, just a few steps from Charles Square, a new space for art space has opened – a gallery where tradition meets contemporary art, established names meet emerging talent, and paintings come together with unconventional artistic forms.
J.A. Gallery MAT is a place where you can stop for a while, find inspiration and discover something new. You will find more than just paintings here – we also present objects, installations, photography and other works by artists who have something to say.
Why J.A. Gallery MAT?
The name J.A. Gallery MAT pays tribute to the artist Jiří Altmann (1942–2023), who had close ties not only to MAT, but also to the Mattlach family for many years. Jiří Altmann was a significant Czech printmaker, best known for his masterful woodcuts and wood engravings, techniques to which he devoted himself throughout his life.
His work is distinguished by precision, a keen sense of detail and a deep connection to traditional printmaking techniques, which he was able to develop in a distinctly modern direction.
The gallery's founder, Zuzana Mattlachová, decided that his name should become part of the new gallery's identity – as a tribute to a remarkable figure who left an unmistakable mark not only on MAT, but also on Czech visual art.
